KCYLNA Summit is our biennial meet and greet for high schoolers! It is held on the opposite year to KCCNA Convention, in December. Summit is held at a large facility, oftentimes a camp site or retreat center. This allows for a jam-packed 3 days of fun activities like icebreakers, group games, cultural programs, boys basketball / girls volleyball tournaments and more; all in an effort for high school Knas to meet new people and establish lifelong bonds!
KCYLNA Youth Convention is our biennial meet and greet for youth aged 19-25! It is typically held in the summer before KCCNA Convention or the December after KCCNA Convention. Youth Convention takes place over 3 days, and is meant for youth to meet new people while also rekindling old connections. It is based in a new city everywhere, and includes various activities unique to the area along with clubbing, brunch, group games, and more.
KCCNA conventions occur biannually on every even year and involve events for the whole family. Throughout the 4 days, KCYLNA hosts icebreakers, city outings, and other social events for the youth to meet new people or reconnect with old friends and family. The age ranges vary depending on the event and in the past we have had a magic show for kids, icebreakers for high school aged youth, city outings for young adults, and brunch for 21+. Our most anticipated events are Battles of Cities and Mr. & Ms. Kna and we always end the convention with a youth banquet on the last night.
Mr and Miss Knanaya is a pageant that has been around since the 1995 Youth Convention held in Chicago. In this pageant, 1-2 representatives from each local association compete in different rounds for scholarships and the title of Mr and Miss Kna.

Battle of the Cities is one of the biggest events at KCCNA Family Convention where proud youth get to show off the talents of their city and their Knanaya pride. Local KCYLs create and perform a 10 minute skit (where they often poke good natured fun of other cities) and compete to take home a cash prize, trophy, and the prestige of being the “best” city. The competition typically takes place during the Mr & Miss Knanaya Pageant.
Local KCYLs are often where youth first connect with the Knanaya community, and without them, KCYLNA wouldn't exist. To strengthen local chapters with both funding and fresh ideas, we introduced the Stand Out KCYL Award. This award is a $500 prize given to a local KCYL that has shown outstanding service to their local community in the events they have planned and their participation in KCYLNA and Committee activities for a specified time period. Judging is done by the current KCYLNA Board.
Mixers are a new event that began with the Boston Mixer during the 2021-2023 KCYLNA Term. Mixers are 1-2 day events and are typically for the 21-25 age group. Because this event is for an older age group, KCYLNA offers the event’s registration at a cheaper price because we allow the participants more flexibility in choosing their own accommodations and transportation.
